4TH USFBA INTER CITY ALL FILIPINO BASKETBALL NATIONAL TOURNAMENT
DISCOVERY SPORTS CENTER BOYDS, MARYLAND
On August 31 & September 1, 2019, the Filipino American Basketball Association of Metropolitan DC, Inc. (FABA) welcomed 103 teams from 16 different cities: Baltimore TRF, Chicago PBA, Florida FSA, Houston PSAOT, Jersey City JCAA, Las Vegas Playhouse, Los Angeles SOCAL, New York BSA, New York FBA, Niagara Falls Jayhawks, San Francisco Heads, Toronto, Virginia Beach VBFAL, York AFLOCK, Washington FYBA and Washington FABA (Host) to the 4th USFBA National Inter City Basketball Tournament at Discovery Sports Center in Boyds, Maryland to a friendly spirit of basketball competition.
We highly commend the organizations of different participating/competing Cities, for achieving a sense of unity through athletic development; their involvement in this demanding and challenging task towards the promotion of sportsmanship and healthy competition through basketball among Filipino-American-Canadian Community.
Each year there are more than teams of children, young adults and adults who are willing to sacrifice their time, show their best efforts and honored to represent their cities. Everyone played the game fairly, competed as hard as they could, showed the spirit of sportsmanship, unity and camaraderie among each other in this highly competitive and rewarding event.
It is nice to win however winning is not everything; it is what we learned that we would make us all WINNERS!!! “WE RUN AS ONE!” was this year’s USFBA motto.
We thank our Almighty God for giving us the privilege of celebrating another year of unity among the Filipino-American-Canadian Community in North America through the game that we all love dearly, BASKETBALL.
FABA of Metro DC, Inc. would like thank all the cities who came and participated during this event specially to the FABA players, coaches, trainers, parents/families who dedicated their time and effort to be with our players throughout and every step of the way cheering on top of their lungs supporting them during their games. Some of the teams made it to the top but some fell short. The support was tremendous and lifted their spirit through adversity. Those are the experiences that they will never forget specially the young ones that they will remember as they grow.
Thank you to all our major sponsors, team uniform sponsors and all the ones who supported the souvenir program fundraising campaign, all of you were instrumental in our success. Through your financial support, it was possible for all of us to make this tournament a success.
